Getting started with us
How do I know if I need a financial adviser?
You might need a financial adviser when you’re looking for clarity in your financial planning, whether you’re approaching a major milestone or navigating the moments in between. Many people reach out when they’re buying a first home, welcoming a child, managing education costs, growing a business or preparing for retirement, and they want to understand how all the pieces fit together. A good adviser gives you clarity about where you stand, a plan that connects your money to your goals, and the reassurance that someone is keeping an eye on things as life, regulation and the wider landscape evolves, so you’re not carrying the whole mental load yourself.
What happens in an initial meeting?
An initial meeting is simply a chance for us to get to know each other – where
you are now, what you’re aiming for, and what’s prompted you to explore
advice. We’ll talk through your goals, any concerns or questions you have, and
show you how our approach and services could support you. There’s no cost for
this first conversation; it’s there to give you space to explore your options and
take the first step toward feeling clearer and more confident about your
financial future.
How do you charge for your services?
We base our fees on your individual needs and requirements which allows us to deliver the best tailored solutions. There are no hidden costs, and we will highlight any charges and associated fees upfront.
Your initial consultation will be provided at our cost to help you to take the first step to achieving your financial ambitions.
If I become a client, how often will we meet to review my planning?
Your needs stay front of mind, so while we build in an annual formal review, we’ll also check in throughout the year, update you when something relevant changes, and be available whenever life moves or decisions need to be made. It’s an ongoing partnership rather than a once-a-year conversation.
Can you work with clients remotely or outside the local area?
You don’t need to be local for us to work together, we support clients right across the UK. We’re set up to work remotely just as comfortably as we do in
person, and we’re always happy to travel when it’s preferable. The most important thing is that the relationship works for you, whether that’s face-to-face, online or a mix of both.
What is a Client Relationship Manager and how will they support me?
A Client Relationship Manager sits at the heart of our service, helping maintain the high standards you should expect and supporting you with the day-to-day things that keep your planning running smoothly. For you, that might mean sharing documentation with your accountant, updating a cashflow model, arranging a statement or helping with something as simple as a password reset. For us, they work alongside your adviser, staying close to your planning, preparing information for your reviews and keeping everything moving behind the scenes so you always know what’s happening and why.
Financial planning
Pensions and retirement
Can you help me understand my pensions and retirement options?
Yes, pensions and retirement planning are a core part of what we do. We can help you to understand what you already have, how it’s performing, what it could provide in the future and the options available to you. Our role is to turn something that often feels complicated and disjointed into clear, confident decisions about the retirement you want to build.
Can you help me consolidate multiple pensions?
If you have pensions scattered across different providers, we can help you understand whether consolidating them is right for you. We’ll review each plan, explain the pros and cons, highlight any guarantees or benefits you may want to keep, and recommend the most suitable approach based on your goals.
Investments and risk
Do you advise on investments?
Yes. We provide fully independent investment advice, building portfolios that reflect your goals, timeframes and attitude to risk. We focus on long-term planning rather than short-term market movements, helping you invest with clarity and confidence.
How do you assess my attitude to risk?
We combine a structured risk-profiling tool with a detailed conversation about your goals, experience, comfort levels and capacity for loss. This helps us understand not just how much risk you can take, but how much risk you’re genuinely comfortable to ensures your plan is aligned with both.
Tax, estate and family planning
Can you help with inheritance tax planning?
Yes, we can help you understand your potential inheritance tax position and explore ways to reduce it where appropriate. This might include gifting strategies, trusts, life cover or structuring your assets more efficiently, always tailored to your personal circumstances and long-term wishes.
How can I make my finances more tax-efficient?
We look at your full financial picture to identify opportunities to use allowances, structure investments efficiently and plan ahead for future tax changes. We work with you to make sure your money is working as effectively as possible within the rules.
Do you advise on trusts?
Yes, we can explain how trusts work, when they may be suitable and how they can support your estate or family planning goals. Where specialist legal input is required, we’ll work alongside your solicitor to ensure everything fits together smoothly
Protection and insurance
What types of protection do you advise on?
We advise on a full range of personal and business protection, including life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection and family or business-focused policies. The aim is to make sure you and the people who rely on you are financially secure if life takes an unexpected turn.
Can you help with business protection?
Yes, we support business owners with key person cover, shareholder protection, relevant life policies and other solutions designed to protect the business and the people within it. We’ll help you understand what’s needed and how it fits into your wider planning.
